I'm out in the Mojave desert of southern California now working for the navy. It's been good times so far with no end in sight. Work is awesome, I'm buying a house, and I'm learning to fly. Life is good.
That's basically what I've been up to. I've survived my first year of grad-school. Thankfully.
I'm doing some biking now. I'm lucky enough to live right next to the Katy Trail so I'm taking advantage of it. I'm also building a recumbent bicycle with my brother so we'll see how that project goes.
Well it's been a while since I've posted anything here, be it art or journal. Actually more than a little while now that I think of it. More like a long while. So it's time to remedy this. Here we go...
I've been trying some painting. Mostly acrylic on canvas-board or canvas pad. I actually really like it. Usually I'm a detail addict so photography is my normal fix. But paint does give me something else photography won't do, It can let me go completely free form. If I can imagine it in principle I can paint it. I say in principle because I still suck at paintwork. So mostly I stick to abstract work or crazy experiments. I'm posting two that
